Community Garden
The Community Garden
The St. Mark’s Community Garden was set up in 2008 with the support of St. Mark’s Church and under the umbrella of the Pohutukawa Coast Community Association for grant purposes. It is an organic shared garden, with a focus on vegetables and herbs, based on a co-operative approach. We usually garden on Sunday afternoons and /or Wednesday mornings.
We ‘take out’ produce according to what work we ‘put in’, determining this for ourselves based on conscience! We operate as a small, friendly group with goodwill and regular communication. New gardeners are very welcome to join the St. Mark’s Community Garden on this basis and if interested may be nominated or invited to join the small planning group which meets once a season or as required.
